My guess is salt and water retention. I really have to be careful the same way after eating at restaurants. Regular food and table salt at home don't seem to do it though 🤷 weird.

Leah, yep... A couple of the items were very salty to me... But I haven't added salt to my meals in a verrry long time... Water from that one meal alone was probably close to 2lbs (2 lg glasses). I'm not real worried about it, just looking forward to next week's weigh in to get another reading... 🧂🥤🍽️🥩🥔🍠🧀🍞🥜 ⚖️📈🤔😲

Isn't that crazy how much liquid can weigh. Ryan pointed that out to me one day I just drank a coffee and I like to drink what each morning I drink a 16 oz coffee he pointed out that I just gained a pound and I was like no I didn't and he's like well how many ounces did you just drink I was like well I just drank a 16 oz coffee and he's like and that is...bated breath...waiting for me to catch up... 1 lb. I thought about it and felt kinda of stupid, but he was right, lol. It's crazy though you just don't think about it that way or at least I don't. I guess I didn't think about the weight of food and drink in that way I thought about the calorific consequences of beverages and food but I didn't really think about the actual weight of the food. It's just really interesting the different ways that people think about things it's kind of fun at least I think it's fun to think about.

I really add salt to my food either at the dinner table or while cooking mainly so I can help Ryan with his high blood pressure. I also tried to prevent myself from buying as many pre-prepared foods as possible and limit are going out and buying food outside the home as much as I can for the same reason. Unfortunately all of that hard work is undone by Ryan's drinking but I do what I can to lower his blood pressure. And I'm doing what I can to pressure him into going back to the doctor to get him on meds for it too. I wish he wasn't so stubborn it really worries me high blood pressure is really nothing to play with and it's very dangerous I am wearing him down slowly I got him to go to the doctor I just didn't get him to go back to the specialist to get it worked on. He acknowledged that he needs to go I just haven't got him to go back. Is it working progress though I'm sure what time I'll wear him down and get him to get the medication. The problem is we both know the medication requires him to stop or limit his drinking significantly and he doesn't want to do that.

Yep, drinks are definitely heavy... Only took me one time of forgetting to do my weekly weigh in BEFORE having the meal... Expected a big loss, recorded a minor gain.. Took a while to figure out why! Between a large meal and two bottles of water, the difference between expected loss and actual gain was about eight pounds!! Sometimes, the order of events can't be helped, but at least now I know to factor it in!! ⚖️📈🤔😂🤣

As for the salt... I don't add any either...been maybe ten to fifteen years or so.,. Rarely... Maybe three times a year I do, but only on extremely bland food.... My blood pressure was unbelievably good for anyone -- not just a guy my age -- on this visit!! But I must confess... Texas Roadhouse gives free bags of salted peanuts in the shell... Gotta savor them as a whole before I open them!! It's a rule!! 🥜😋😂🤣
