Last night: boy's 15th birthday. Had to have hot pot. And ice cream cake. Maybe 1500 calories in total. Afterwards, I decided it was a free night. That gave an an excuse to binge.

While drinking about 6 total ounces of bourbon, I decided I wanted something. Bread would do it. No, toast. With butter. Heck, why not fry a couple pieces of bread? I just got some nice garlic sourdough from Franz. Into the pan it goes, with maybe a quarter-cup of butter under it.

Hm, maybe some cheese would be good on those. I have some havarti. FIne cheese, but I want a little more savory with it. Cheddar with the havarti. Some chopped cilantro in between. It'll make for a nice little double-sized sandwich. Crispy, crusty, fatty, maybe 1200 calories on its own.

You know what might else might go well with that? A fried egg. Heck, why not two? A pat of butter and a sprinkling of salt. Along with the bourbon, the binge hits 1800 calories. And man, was it good.

Yesterday, pre-hot pot: made and froze 8 500c servings of coconut lentil turnip stew. Put a 15 pound brisket in the oven at 225F. It's still in there, 16 hours later. The plan: pair 3.5oz of brisket (330c) with a bit less than 5oz of baked beans (170c). freeze. I'm guessing at least 12 and as many as 20 servings from this.

Added to the 12 breakfast burritos I made earlier in the week,I should have at least 32 servings of 500c meals.

There's also a gallon of asparagus soup to freeze. And 6 more pounds of asparagus to pickle. And so much more to do.
