I met with the radiation oncologist and the radiation oncology dietitian yesterday.
We checked in about side effects. The oncologist said things were going as they should (including the skin damage). The dietitian said that my diet is ideal for mitigating the side effects. She indicated that 90-100 grams of high-quality protein (aside from the organic chicken bone broth, she indicated plant protein is better). Also, some of the side effects will flip sometime next week and also may become worse.
All-in-all, things are going well. I get the 5-fluorouracil pump removed today! Still have radiation for 23 more sessions and another round of chemo during week four.
Also... I've actually gained 7 pounds since I weighed in on the 13th... which is great news!
