So on this day just 12hrs into my 42hr fast. I've managed to "lose" another 0.5kg and would normally lose by morning another 1kg-1.5kg. Lets just say I'm aiming for the 110kg.. but as ever see what happens. Im sort of aiming to be 108.5kg after the third 42hr fast...... Seems so far away.. even though its just Saturday morning.
245.6 lb Lost so far: 53.1 lb.    Still to go: 16.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 6.2 lb a week

How often do you plan to do this and how do you eat in between fasts?

Going to try for a couple of weeks, 3x42hr fasts a week. So I started with eating Sunday 6pm, then next meal was Tuesday 1pm then Tuesday 6pm... Then Ive eaten again at 12 noon and will eat again 6pm ish. Then ill eat next on Saturday with 2 meals, but also sunday 2 meals, then ill start again not eating till tuesday and repeat. Whether I can do this so frequently Im not sure.. but Id rather try than keep being on my plateau

Great job on the fasting. Listen to your body, on the frequency of fasting. It will tell you and you will know when it's right.

Commonly known as ADF - Alternate Day Fasting, it's very effective! I was doing it, then I changed mine to three days back to back to spend more time in autophagy, I'm averaging a 3 pound a week loss. You are doing awesome!

You two are inspiring me to get back to my longer fasts. I've just been doing daily 16:8 and progress has been slow, so I think I need to pick it up.

I think if 16:8 isnt doing enough, Id give one meal a day a go perhaps.. thats sort of 23/24hr fasting..

I have never been a breakfast or lunch eater, just about all my life Dinner has been my primary meal and of course, snacks....otherwise I would not be in the shape I am in. After becoming fast adapted....stomach shrinkage. I can't get enough calories into one meal to be eating at a healthy caloric level unless I add starchy carbs, so at the present time, I'm doing BP coffee in the mornings to boost my caloric intake without stretching my stomach. In my head, the stomach shrinkage that occurs during a 3 day fast is equal to a gastric bypass and I try not to become uncomfortably full...which equates to stomach stretching in my thoughts, I do it sometimes, but mostly try to avoid it. I have friends who got the gastric bypass, but they continued eating more than they could comfortably hold in the stomach and over time, had stretched the remaining stomach area back out and basically ended back up where they were prior to the bypass. Sad to go through all that and end up nullifying it.

I've been following the carnivore and high protein gurus on YouTube who have me thinking I need about 130 gms of protein. That's hard enough to do in two meals, and impossible for me in one. I'm also working on sleeping better and getting more consistent exercise.

I would go 20:4 then from 16:8. Re Carnivore and higher protein, this after a loss of 4 stone, just causes me to stall. What im doing now is reducing the protein level and eating more fat. Adding olive oil, eating a small amount of tasty butter, adding cheese and i also have extra thick cream with sprinkled cocoa powder. That cream is a good way of adding more tasty fat into diet. Some gurus say that only 15%-20% pf protein and 75% fat. We are all diferent though.

Thanks for the tip. We all get such differing advice. I guess it's a matter of trying different ratios to see what works best, or maybe cycling. I do think that higher fat improves ketosis, which is afterall fat-burning. I've had an off week with my exercize and that slows things down too.
