Doctor weigh in day! I have a couple hours til I have to leave for my appointment. We'll also be going over my blood work I did this past month. And moving on from there.

After my doc appointment, I'll be hitting the grocery store up. Need bananas and milk. I think we'll have roast for dinner tonight as well. Potatoes. Might need to pick up some bread to go with it. I don't usually eat the bread, but the family enjoys it. I'm also low on tomatoes. I might switch it up and make beef stew though if it keeps raining like it is.

Time to get the oldest kid started on her school work for the day and I need to go get a shower in before I need to leave.

Pic is of dinner last night. My salad was bigger than my bowl of pasta and chicken. Homemade pesto sauce over the noodles, and it did have cheese in it. It was a big hit with the family. Totally have fresh basil growing in the window of the kitchen. It's amazing how often I use it. I really could use a couple extra plants because it always looks plucked. And super tender crockpot chicken. I saved the broth to use in a soup or chicken and dumplings later this week. I tried the ribbon cutter in my spiralizer, and they weren't as thin as I was wanting, probably going to stick to the noodle option from here on out. But

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

you can grow more basil plants by taking a cutting and putting it in water until it grows roots, then back in soil! I've propagated all mine this way 😄

@ Asarver: That is a really good idea. I've been rooting lantana in my kitchen window the last few months. I have 4 new lantana plants now. I guess I should switch it up and try my hand with basil. Would be more productive on my part. Do you use rooting powder on the basil??

I've never tried! They sprout roots pretty easy in water. It takes about a week. they even look better then my original 😆

I hadn't thought to do that with my basil. I just usually buy a plant and keep it in my window until it dies after about a year and then repeat the cycle. I have an ongoing compost project going, so this is the perfect time to do it. as for lantana, great plant, easy to grow, non-edible, poisonous to pets. I have it in my front yard. love it.

I'll have to look that one up!

The lantana is definitively not editable. I have some bright yellow flowering ones in the flowerbed by my front door, but I wanted to put more in a couple places in my front yard. Most of the planting is in yellow, white and blues, with splashes of pink here and there. My kitchen window just seems to be the ideal place to root plants in old glass honey jars and mason jars. Just part of my morning routine to give them fresh water when I get my coffee.
