Kayleigh Boesiger's Journal, 25 July 2022

This past week was a rough one binge wise. ugh. It's been so long since I've had to worry about binge eating. I feel hopeful about this coming week, though. a day at a time. I'm so glad I have the gym to keep my head above water. We went white water rafting Saturday, so I missed Saturday, but that is okay. we can say the rafting counts as a workout. I've got excersize in the bag, honestly. Now if I can just improve my calorie quality/quantity. Why does changing eating habbits have to be so difficult?

I made a few comments about how I got out of the snacking habit and how I get out of binges, but I think FS thought I was spamming you, and they got deleted. Sigh. Anyway, I have found a high protein, high fiber "get out of binge mode'" food to be helpful. When I binge, or feel one coming on, I try to switch to a food that is hard to binge, like a shot of milk with lots of protein powder and about 1tsp of mixed prebiotic fiber, chased with a glass of water. I explicitly label it as a "get out of binge mode'" food, and it works for me because it is physically filling (fiber, water) and satiating (protein). It can keep a binge from becoming a big binge.

Thank you so much for the advice. It is always inspiring to know others have delt with the same thing, and also hearing what helps. I will try that! 💜
