be careful with 800 calories. one of my friends did it, it worked very well but you can't do it for long. your body needs 1200 calories a day to function properly. I'm on 1400 and it's been working great but it seems to have stopped now so might go down to 1200. 800 calories is not a lot especially of you exercise, you need to look after your body too x

Be careful as amcq1882 is spot on you body will stop burning calories if you go to low. Make sure you counting all calories drinks etc it’s something I’m terrible at. Keeping going and good luck

You need more than that otherwise you won’t lose weight and you will do more harm than good

I found sticking to 800 for 2 weeks (but on the Mediterranean style diet so you get enough nutrients) was a great kickstarter. It also reset my thinking on portion sizes and meal composition and reminded me how processed carbs knock my blood sugar off kilter. I do it two days a week now and never the day before my big workouts. I get the same benefits PLUS since I aim for a 1400 average that means I get Fridays and Saturdays with an allowance of 1900 cals 😃👊🏻

Do it. I did it and lost 22lbs in 8 weeks a few years ago. It massively helped my diabetes and helped me to get pregnant. Follow the book the blood sugar diet. It’s life changing.

I Would be careful lowering to much it wasn't for me dropped to 1000 little while back felt like my body wanted to give up. personally at mo I prefer 1800 a day. Spin bike 40-60 mins 5 days a week and every morning before starting your day 10000 step walk no matter what the weather. feel much better now eating the more then burn off what I want. have a snack then I can work harder/longer on spin bike/walk. Good luck👍

Ignore people saying 800 calories is too low, it is simply not. In the book fast 800 they have scientifically proven that 800 calories will continue to burn fat and you can do it for up to 12 weeks

Not saying its to low saying it doesn't work for everyone and not a long term thing so what do you do after 12 weeks..... 1200 cals and put it back on. Personally eat then exercise better for me might not work for everyone different lifestyle.

I lost too much too quickly and I lost muscle as well which you don’t want every one was saying how bad I looked I now realise it was the muscle I lost that made me look that way

So with the fast 800 diet you do this for up to 12 weeks following a Mediterranean diet and then after that time you go onto the 5:2 diet, whilst being mindful of portions etc. They have proven that people who lose weight quicker are actually MORE likely to keep the weight off 😊 many studies have been done to compare people on the 800 diet and a more 'standard' diet and the results show the 800 dieters lose more weight and keep it off longer than the standard dieters 😊 I highly recommend reading The Fast 800 by Dr M Moseley

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate you stopping by and giving your experiences and opinions.. i have lost two stone in the past with weighwatchers about 15 years ago. In three months. But now, it’smore difficult. I have nothing easy togive up! I have no sugar, no chocolate, little butter, skimmed milk... there are no easy things. I walked more today. I will go to 1200 a day. So of sitting on the fence!
