I think a lot of us have been off the wagon. You make me feel better about it. Hahaha. Hope you had a good time on your vacation, even if you got stuck driving the whole time. You can reel it in and get back on track when you want. Baby steps, maybe. ;-)

I'm getting back on track, but it's like I'm having withdrawals from the crappy lifestyle. I'm counting my calories today, and I know I have enough, but I'm FREAKIN' HUNGRY! I'll probably be grumpy for a few days while I settle back into my healthy ways.

You'll get it back together. I am sure the whole marathon experience really threw you for a loop, and then the holidays and vacation on top of it! You'll have to remember how you ate before you started running 75 miles a week. :)

I am feeling the hunger crankies too. I can't stop craving junk food and it's REALLY HARD not cave. I feel ravenous. Like, I might eat my own arm.

If you're ravenous- eat something! But not junk food. How about an apple? Some celery? I make myself a cucumber salad. Here's the recipe:
Cucumbers.
lol :)

Well, I only had one art class in college, so you might pick it up pretty quick. Then again, I've been drawing on my own for fun since... forever. LOL

Hey, if you want a transition from vegetarian to omnivore take a look at the Mabo Dofu recipe in my cookbook. Ground turkey and tofu, what's not to love? Oh, and welcome back from the Holiday break!

Welcome back! You draw beautifully, my son gave me a drawing for Christmas and it was great, it made me cry.

Gah, why red bull when you could have monster? Great drawings btw. I'm sure they were thrilled, and not just fake thrilled, real thrilled.

Nooooo! You've gone to the dark side! The tofu gods are crying. Ah, well. You'll come back to your senses some day. ;) Your drawings are amazing! Lucky family!

@Melba: Monster is MUCH better (though my personal favorite is low carb Venom). I think I must have had one of every type of energy drink during the trip, but most ended up being sugar free Red Bulls as that's what my girlfriend is addicted to. lol

Shia: My aunt cried when she opened hers (the second pic), so I take that as "mission accomplished".

@Amryk: The tofu gods may smile upon me again some day, but right now I'm using myself as a guinea pig in a nutrition experiment. We'll see how it goes, and how I feel.

I'm 90-95% vegetarian, but when I do eat meat (and I occasionally do), I look for the most sustainable and cruelty-free available. Pasture-raised, antibiotic-free, and hormone-free is better for your health and the environment:)

I have been off the wagon for longer than that and I still havent found the motivation to get back on. The holidays this year really kicked my ass... I have debated going back to eating some meat but I just cant bring myself to do it... I dont really know why. It started out as a diet choice but somewhere along the way it became alot more than that... who knows.. Good luck guy... you are still my hero.. :)

@Markie: I had been doing research and thinking about switching back for several months, but to be honest it still feels kind of odd. I don't think I was managing my diet very well because I was feeling run-down, and people were starting to tell me that I was getting really bad dark circles around my eyes. I don't know if the diet change is going to help at all, but I figure it's worth a shot.
