Bad breath is from the production of ketones as you burn body fat and is a good sign that the diet is working. Ketone production is necessary for continuing weight loss. To counteract the odor, you may increase to a slightly higher carbohydrate level; however, this can slow down weight loss. You may also use chlorophyll (must be sugarless), eat more parsley and dark green, leafy vegetables, and be sure that your water intake is at least 8 or more glasses daily (use water, not another flavored beverage). For leg cramps: Supplements of potassium, magnesium and calcium are needed. Potassium is best replaced by a potassium chloride salt substitute from the supermarket (used liberally).

Drink lots of water for the ketone breath. Exercise to sweat them out too, drink water to replenish. Lori is right about the potassium, I believe that is why Dr. Atkins recommends having 1/2 an avocado per day on Induction. 1/4 of an avocado has as much potassium as a banana without the high carbs. Add some to your salad every day and it will help. Potassium supplements are also an option.
