I'm very sorry to hear about your son's teacher Gracie, it's just another example of how we never know what is going to happen in the next moment, and how we need to be grateful for what we have now. Maybe telling the children to be happy that they are alive is one way to soften the news and help them understand how life really is. You can still make it to 160 for the cruise, all you have to do is make up your mind that it will be done.

Oh my God Gracie that is horrible. It is such a hard thing for children to understand. I would only answer the questions that are asked. If he is only 2 you may be surprised that he doesn't ask much and transitions well. Don't give up on the 160. You still have time. Wow 13 days..you sure will enjoy that!

You can do it! Stick to high protein foods during these next days leading up to your trip and I think it's attainable. What a fun goal too!

I am so sorry to hear about your son's teacher. How terrible! I do not mean any disrespect at all but when I read such details near the end of FS members' journal entries and then read others' comments - I often wonder if readers read the ENTIRE entry. Losing one's child's teacher puts weight loss efforts in perspective and in the grand design of things - losing or gaining a pound does not seem THAT important. God bless you and yours. You are a good mommy and I know you will find the right words to comfort your children.

Yes. Let's hope the storms circumvent your boat. Truly. I have been watching the weather channel closely. My son just returned to his college state from St. George Island, FL on the Gulf Coast.

Thanks guys. I think it is actually harder on the parents than the kids. Carter hasn't really acted like any thing has changed. So that is a good thing. He really is too young to understand or be affected. She had several helpers, as one would with a class of fifteen 2 year olds,so he has had familiar faces in his class all week.

Thanks Info!! I am so excited!!! Today I have done well. I have done Pilates, ate lots of fruits and veggies, and will walk after dinner. I wish i hadn't waited until the week before I left to get started. lol. Oh well. I have lost 50 lbs since my journey began, so I look and feel a million times better than I did a year ago.
