SheltieMom0318's Journal, 11 September 2023

I just have to keep reminding myself: Even if I only lost a half pound each week, one year from now, I will weigh 26 pounds less than I weigh right now, which is a significant achievement. And since I am feeling really comfortable with the way I'm eating now, feeling like I could stick to this long-term, I guess I should be satisfied with a half pound per week and figure it will take two years to reach my goal... but I'll get there.
201.0 lb Lost so far: 19.0 lb.    Still to go: 56.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks, DO N OK. I'm trying to be very focused and yet not having an anxiety attack about the pace of my weight loss.

I had similar thoughts and at the beginning of 2023 set a goal of 1 pound a week. I did okay for about 6 weeks and now am kind of starting again.

Great way to look at it— time goes by quickly regardless what you do, you might as well do something that might pay off with a chance at better health.

Thanks for all the support. I appreciate it. Fritzy 22 -- It's rough to keep going, isn't it? FYI -- I lost all this weight once before, and gained it back thanks to a lot of stress and the pandemic. In the past, I'd gotten as heavy as 175, but always caught myself and slimmed back down to the 140s. It gets harder as you get older, and 222 (where I started this time) is a lot more challenging than 175. So I need all the encouragement I can get.

That's a good way to look at it. You're moving in the right direction, and if you stick to it, your progress will be substantial in a year's time.

I absolutely love your attitude and it really gave me something to think about. It’s not how fast you do something. It’s the fact that you get it done great lesson to learn it. Thank you.
