I’ve decided to do something I haven’t done in a year. In 2019, I only posted weight losses. It made sense for my goals. I lost 5 to 8 lbs per month and I wasn’t as concerned with muscle growth or body fat percentage, but things are changing in 2020!
You may have seen my recent body scan update where my weight was 227 (up 6 lbs), but the real deal is that I lost 4 lbs of fat and gained 2 lbs of muscle (I’m holding a bit of the H2O).
So, to all those trying to make it work in 2020, remember that weight is important, but not everything. Try to measure body fat (scanner, tape measure, calipers, whatever). Eat quality food! Eat protein and veggies!
Lastly... count calories. If you haven’t had success, you need to educate yourself on your food. You can read articles, listen to someone else, count on a diet fad, but I’m telling you from my 5+ years of learning about food, that what has worked is knowing that I’m burning more calories than I’m eating. The only way I learned that was by recording EVERYTHING I eat here on FS. You can do it too. You’ll spend less time on it than you do on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. Less money than weight watchers, and you’ll find success..

nice love2👍 cico is the only way we lose weight, really simple, however good nutrition choices allow us to eat enough to be under calories to stay physically, energetically, mentally, and emotionally healthy. one should never feel hungry. if you're hungry, then either you're not eating enough for your activity level and/or you're eating the wrong things!!! Good job on the lean mass gains👍💪💕

Good advice, the last few months of 2019 I concentrated on eating in a slight surplus, and better body composition. I didn’t really rely on the scale as I did measurements. There comes a point where that number in the scale gets tricky, cause while I eat a bit more, my body composition is better now than before. Feb will bring on a slight deficit! #goals !

Yep, I record my weight every day because I know gains are not a bad thing. It equals more energy for the gym, more weight I am moving around thus more energy expended, better pumps, and I look more muscular. It's all about CICO with a focus on protein, and getting your nutrients and fiber. Great post, L2E!

Great FLN! I think it’s the key weight loss activity that will work for most people.
