amanda123's Journal, 13 August 2010

Well I am losing again. I didn't record it yesterday in case it was a fluke but I am down more today so I recorded the loss. Isn't it funny how our goals change. So when I started I just wanted to lose the weight and look good "in my clothes". I figure I will never be able to rock a bikini but that's ok, as long as I can look good in my jeans. Well that goal is slowly changing.... I still want to look good in my jeans but I would like to be able to wear shorts or a one-piece bathing suit without my legs looking like cottege cheese. So anyways, I've changed my mind. Us women are allowed to do that as often as we want. :) I no longer just want to be a normal size. I want to get HOT. I want to for once be the girl that guys look at and the girl that other girls look at and say "oh wow, I wish I looked that good" I know I can't get this way on diet alone so I am going to have to make some changes. I have to start a exercise routine if I want to really look good - in and out of my clothes.

It's like my momma always told me... "you can want in one hand and sh*t in the other, and see which one fills up first" .... pardon my french.

Well I can want all I want but without some work I won't get there. So it's August... it should start cooling down soon and I am going to start walking and riding my bicycle. I think I have to air up the tires & stuff because I haven't rode it in years. If anyone has some tips for toning the legs I would much appreciate it. That is my trouble area... my butt & leggs. Not that I want to lose my hiney - just the cellulite on my legs.
224.0 lb Lost so far: 64.0 lb.    Still to go: 69.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I came to the same conclusion about needing to exercise Amanda. You will be the hot one!

Walking and biking are both wonderful for your legs. Don't wait too long to get started. Cold weather gets here before you know it. I love to walk as a wakeup. I roll out of bed, into my clothes and I am out of the door and down the street before I wake up. The first 1/2 mile is absolutely painless! ; ) I am in the desert of Colorado, very hot summers but it always cools down at night so either early morning or late evening are my best options for walking and avoiding the heat.

Amanda, I have been forgoing the walking since it has been sooo hot. Even at 8:30 pm it is still 90 and the humidity is killer. But it is supposed to break Saturday night and I cannot wait!! Then I can get back into my routine. Walk for 2 miles at 4 mph, then an hour in the pool. The pool water temp yesterday was 96, way too warm for swimming comfortably. Ugh, like swimming in a spa! Good luck and great job!!
