Stepping on the scale this morning, I threw up my hands and laughed. Whatever. It'll come off eventually. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the humor in the journey.

In Massachusetts, we experienced a bit of a "heatwave." Temperatures soared from the low 50s to 80 degrees yesterday. My friends in Texas are likely having a good laugh about this. Anyway, I consumed an additional electrolyte and mineral drink to combat the dehydration I was facing, and it truly made a significant difference.

Hi Concarne~ Gosh, good luck with your summer heat waves! The low-sodium salt substitutes (NucSalt and Morton’s Salt Free) are inexpensive electrolyte supports; check them out..they have the exact same ingredients as pricey electrolyte powder products; I combine Morton’s Salt Free with my favorite everyday salt (Redmond’s Sea Salt) so I regularly get those trace minerals- potassium, magnesium, calcium- especially eating low carb as I do. Also, do you listen to the Vanessa Spina podcast- Optimal Protein? It’s a good one, especially her guest interviews..can be pretty science-cy; love her content. She recently (early May) had an episode on ‘priming’- a common strategy in carnivore discussions. And Dr. Georgia Ede’s book and (any podcast she’s on) is quite good for carnivore, meat eating, info and support.

..oh, and ‘heat waves’ comment was sarcasm. 😉 sorta sarcasm, because if you’re not acclimated even temps in the 80’s IS a jolt.

lol...Cici-HappyTracking! I am enjoying your sense of humor. Thanks for the tips about cheaper electrolyte & mineral sources. I should get those. I have Redmonds and I think I may even have some NuSalt up in the cupboard. I heard Dr. Berry talks about it. But I have never heard of Vanessa Spina - Optimal Protein podcast. I really enjoy nerding out on all the science-y stuff. I thought I had understood the concept of "priming", but I need to revisit this topic. Dr. Ede is such a great resource of information, isn't she? We are all so blessed to have her in the carnivore space to educate us all. I believe that I just ordered her book, and I am looking forward to delving into it. I don't often say this, but I am extremely glad that YouTube is allowing this information on their platform. It's a lifesaver.
