KerrieJD's Journal, 29 January 2024

Today was my first weekly weigh in. I was a bit disappointed that I'd only lost .5kg after all my hard work but like my husband said, I need to remember that I'm now 60 not 30 and it will be slower for me to lose weight and at the end of the day, it's all about getting my heart healthy.
197.8 lb Lost so far: 1.1 lb.    Still to go: 87.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Ive just started weekly weigh ins too ...my first one is next saturday and I'm worried ill only lose .2- .5 of a kg or even put on weight. but you right/your husbands right ...it won't be as easy as it was when we were in our 30's ...best of luck.

I haven't had my first weigh in yet. To be honest - scared I will fail to see the numbers go down. I'm 52 and perimenopausal - just looking at anything sinful and fun makes me put on weight. Trying to focus on eating healthy and less. The weight will drop as soon as the mindset adjusts. Don't be too hard on yourself. 🦋

Hey. You lost congratulations 🥳 You’re already on the winning side. Your body is adjusting to the new lifestyle and if you keep at it you will definitely start seeing a change not only in your weight but also your body shape.

I gained 35kg which took me up to 97kg while waiting for two total knee replacements. Now 12 months on (I'm 67) I have found that doing exercises in the pool is the way to go for me. No way on gods green earth could I do say star jumps on dry land but can in the water. I use the water as my resistance and have lost 10kg in just over 3 months. Slow and steady is paying off.

You’re doing amazing. The scale loss is not always gonna be accurate so don’t be disappointed. Water retention can cause it to be higher. You can also be losing fat and building muscle hence the muscle is supplementing. Also time between weighing yourself having meals or bathroom can cause the scale to shift.

Well done. Your body is adjusting and the scales are not always an indication of weight loss. Take measurements monthly and you'll be surprised.
