Bumped my calories up to 1450 - 1550 at doctor's request; been at it for a week and the scale hasn't really moved. I weigh .4 pounds more than when I increased the calories 8 days ago.
Clearly, this isn't working. I weigh 330 pounds and don't need to gain half a pound a week. I'm working too hard planning meals, chopping and dicing, and tracking my food intake, not to mention spending a lot more time eating (no way to rush consuming lots of vegis) to experience zero success.
I know .4 pounds isn't a lot but it is frustrating and discouraging to put in all the effort and gain.
I'm going to drop my calories to 1200-1300 for the next week to see what kind of difference that makes before I go back to see her (doctor) on the 31st.

once i starting drinking a TON of water it started coming off. Be sure to track everything. WHen I printed out my daily charts I was shocked how much sodium and fat I was really eating. The carbs and protein were fantastic. Good luck and I hope it goes well for you. Also try eating a lot of small meals instead of large ones. My fiber was also low, so I am adding flax seeds to my daily low fat carb yogurt.

I'm drinking at least six 24 oz glasses of water a day (144 oz total) but maybe I need more for my weight. I could benefit from more fiber and I've got the flax seeds so I'll add them - starting with a cucumber and tomato salad for lunch.
I know it is a process of finding out what works for me. Thanks for your suggestions.

I heartily agree with getting the carbs down and then seeing good results. Good luck with everything. Cheers

Don't be discouraged - I know you will figure out what works best for you and then your doctor will be onboard. I think it's important to experiment to find the formula that will work for you - good luck! I am supporting you and sending positive vibes!

Hi Joelmel, As others say, drinking lots of water & watching both carbs & fats can make a big difference, & as you go you will learn what does & doesn't work for you for best results. Everyone's body is different, & there are so many variables (body type, normal eating habits, amount of weight you need to lose, possible other medical/health issues, etc.), so really only you can decide how many calories is right for you, & how to proceed with your lifestyle change regarding your eating habits.I have a lot of weight to lose too, & many health & mobility issues that complicate the process, but I plan to lose at least 50 lbs in the next year, & I know I will succeed, because I won't stop trying til I do. You've proven you can do this, so just keep at it. The only way to fail is to stop trying. Best wishes for a thinner & healthier you! :)
