Yippee
Goal 8 met! Under 180. Can hardly believe it. Barely, but still under. It's an odd thing, but everytime I'm at a cusp number, I don't "trust" it until it settles a couple of lbs lower. Still can't get rid of the menopausal belly. Driving me bonkers. I have faith that it will yield someday...just carry on.
It's interesting how the brain starts to change. I had wicked bad cravings yesterday afternoon, likely due to enforced boredom, so drove into town to find something. I looked at all the old standbys, imagined them in my mouth, read the labels and went "nah" So I did intentionally indulge in one small thing, a mini package of Christmas marzipan stollen. Added it to my log, didn't go over, and even that wasn't as yummy as I'd imagined it would be when I had it (not enough marzipan). Had a quarter of it, threw away the rest. So I guess my palate has changed. Ended up leaving the store with the stollen, some clementines, bananas (cramping in the surgical hand and likely not enough hydration) and a box of multigrain oatmeal. Weirdly, I'm proud that the items in my shopping cart these days looks like that of a person who eats healthy. I used to be embarrassed checking out what with all the junk that used to be in my cart. Even back then I knew what I was doing to myself was not good, but was not willing to make the change. Old habits die hard, but they are changing. So double yay!
