Katsolo's Journal, 25 August 2024

Swim and finished row #89 last night. Ten minutes of sprinting for 30 seconds with 15 seconds “rest”. Got through it though. 😣 Swim was pleasant, 860 strokes, most of it in zone 1 (???) although that could be the watch not picking up heart rate accurately. 10.5 METs. Going earlier today so I can fit everything in that needs to get done. I say that as I’m writing my journal at close to 1:30 PM. I turned off my alarms this morning and slept until almost 8:00AM. That never happens. Guess I was tired enough to be devious. I lost an earring yesterday and did a spiral looking for it and we never got to a meaningful walk with the dogs. Had to rationalize looking for hours vs. just buying another pair. They were inexpensive, so that’s what I ended up doing. Not going to promise that i won’t still obsess, but at least I can move on.

This is the gorgeous time of year - hot days, cool nights right now. My favorite. Shorts and sweatshirts. Although I’m wearing skorts at the moment. Just gotta be a girly girl some days. If I knocked out a row right after this, the 90 day challenge would be complete. Might just do that. Because. I’ll write down my rules for the next challenge tonight. Still thinking about it. I ended up getting a super cute red hoodie as my reward for 90 days. Just need that Fall weather to arrive. I can be little red riding hood and Chance can be the wolf.

Gratuitous dog pics and two of my recent awards from Apple. 1750 days of closing my move ring where the current goal is 630 move calories. Not to be confused with a streak, totally different. I’ve also just done 250 Fitness+ workouts, which are mostly rowing and treadmill. That’s worked out really well for me as far as something I really picked up using during the plague. Gotta keep moving.

Blob down, muscle up, this is the low end of my range for the week.

Weekend rules, enjoy the day.

Great job on your goals Kat!!! I hear pumpkin lattes are out now. 🎃 I had a mocha last week and rode the sky tram to the health sciences university. The mocha was the highlight of my day. Soooooo goooood!!!!! It had been awhile. I love the idea of your red hoodie for a reward and the red riding hood & the wolf! Such a great idea!!! Have a good night!

And row #90 is on the books. 611,840 meters on the machine.

Hi Bear! I’m thinking about something really cool for when I hit 1 million meters. Any ideas? If I increase my distance, I think I might be able to do it by the end of the year if I attack it seriously. That means ~5K a session for the longer days and at least 2K for the “off” days if I still row every day. I may be delusional. Won’t be the first time.

I had to drive up to OHSU ER in the middle of the night on a weekend in the rain for an earache that got out of control. All of my memories that night are rather gothic in nature. Thunder, lightning, rain and a curvy road in the dark. I arrived to long medical hallways with fluorescent lighting. They did fix my ear up and I didn’t burst an eardrum. I was lucky because it was closer than it should have been. All good! 👍

Oh my gosh, that's crazy! Must have been so painful!!! Good thing it wasn't on Halloween. It would have been sort of funny if you'd shown up in a vampiress costume. I used to run up that hill with a girlfriend from work. We worked downtown. 🏃‍♀️I'm not very creative in thinking up rewards. Maybe a new swimsuit, shoes, jewelry? Or something you don't normally do for yourself because it feels like a splurge. I often think about getting my nails done or a massage. Maybe something like that? At one time when I was dieting I would go to Baskin Robbins every week, if I'd met that weeks goal. My intent was to try all 31 flavors. I seem to recall they were listed alphabetically. I believe I got to Walnut, which I did not like! Ha! Another time I bought myself a beanie baby at every 5lb loss. Nothing too exciting. Just funny little things to keep me going. New clothes are always fun though! 1 mil sounds like a challenge but I know you can do it!

Or funnier yet if the doctors were dressed up like vampires! Spooky! 🦇
