my interest in this program it get back healthy body. Being a healthy body weight all my life, I found that after my husband sudden death and over the next 8yrs I packed on 60lbs. The last year my father past away from cancer, I quit smoking and I packed on another 50lbs in less than 10mons -still climbing. My knees, heart and breathing is effected. I've tried many different changes in my diet -with little or no success. In addition, even if I eat healthy all day and watch my portions, I awake in the middle of the night and eat. I work in a job that barely pays over minim wage and when I gone for job interviews I've been judge on my size. People believe you are lazy, which is not case for me. I go aqua fit couple time a week. My motivations, are to be healthy and be here a longer for my boys. I'm in trouble, trying every which way for help.

My heath is deteriorating and my GP just writes me off all time. He said I've have to quit smoking and start a healthy lifestyle. Which, I have done for the last 10mons, I also gained 45lbs in those months..he passes me by saying I am a strong women, it will come. My knees are blown out.. I find it very hard to walk and do my job, breathing problems, high blood pressure - I was advised by another doctor I was going to die at this rate...So I am here looking for some types of solutions with my limited budget.

may i be honest with you? since i'm on calorie counting, i even spend less money in food than i did before. you know why? i plan my meals in advance and i make good choices. before my "diet" i usually went grocery shopping and bought a lot of bad stuff...and that was pretty expensive. there were days when i went grocery shopping about 3 - 4 times a week (sometimes every day) and i spent a good amount in that stores. i think the best way for you will be to log in ALL your food here. if you still gain weight and you think, that you shouldn't, because you eat healthy, you can print your food logs and show it to your nutritionist or doctor. i wish you all the luck in the world that it will be working for you.

Veggies, fruits, water, lo fat protein. I agree with Joelae, I spend less now than I did before our lifestyle change. It's hard to take the first step, but it's so worth it. My advise, find places close to home or work that sell cheap produce like a farm market or produce store/stand. Always keep water on hand at work and home. Also, find a new doctor who is willing to help you on this journey and really listen to your needs. Remember, you are worth it!

I can totally relate to your situation--weight-wise. I also need to job hunt but I want to be in better shape first; I don't want the judgement. I can attest to this site being a great tool for logging your foods and exercise, and joining challenges for motivation. But even with that, success isn't guaranteed. My newest strategy is: drinking lots of water. I have not always bought into the belief that you have to drink so much water, in fact, I thought it was probably the wrong thing to do. But, since I have been feeling so run down and couldn't shake it, I decided to dig out my old copy of the book, "Your body's many cries for water" and re-read. I think it will be a good strategy--you may consider the possibility of dehydration affecting your health. Just a suggestion. Best of Luck!!
