Got a doctor's appointment today for bloodwork & physical. Thought I'd better find out just how much damage I'd done since gaining 40 pounds.

It's good to get a baseline. Then you can see how much you improve with your healthier lifestyle.

Key markers....Glucose, Triglycerides, HDL, AST/ALT

Mahjohn - OK - am going to Google AST/ALT.

AST/ALT are key markers that indicate the health of your Liver. Excess weight, i.e., excess deep visceral fat storage in the liver will change these numbers. Good thing, the liver is the only organ that can heal itself :-)

Mahjohn - Just got back (I did look this up). I remember seeing this from last time. But did not know that the liver could heal itself. Thanks - like to know there is hope!

There are a number of supplements that support a healthier liver, however, "Liv-52" is by far the best, and has clinical trials to back up the claims. If you have Liver issues or want to ensure a healthy liver....it's a cheap supplement, readily available on Amazon.

How did you do at the doctor? You can do this Buffy...

HCB - Everything was good except that I am fat and my blood pressure is up a little. The lab report will be e-mailed to me in a few days - will keep my fingers crossed.
