today is day 13 of being in a deficit hoping to make it 14 days then have a higher calorie day Sunday.

cool. I just realized the reason you don't blow your whole regime is there are more low calorie days than high calorie.

Curious - is there a purpose to having deficit days on purpose, other than losing weight?

Planning deficit days is how you manage being able to eat more caloric foods on weekends, holidays, eating out at restaurants. Some people suggest it also helps your metabolism.

do you feel like you "know" when to have a high calorie day?? are there signs that point to a high calorie day is needed or is it out of "this specific day we eat at a restaurant/holiday/birthday" ? I seem to naturally have days I'm not hungry, to a day where I can't stop snacking...granted I'm pregnant, but I've really just listened to hunger cues and paused counting calories for now.

This has been the most insanely busy past couple months it's been crazy always something between family parties, camping , cub scouts events, work craziness, races etc so there has always been something in my way from ever getting to where I wnat to be so it's been 2 steps forward 1 step back the whole time. Or at the very least forward progress halted for a few days. At most events I load up on fruits vegetables lean proteins and save room for plenty of desserts. I skip evrything else and it doesn't throw me that far off. In this case 14 days is the longest time I've gone in like 4 months 🤣 every weekend was something. Tomorrow is both my kids birthday party so gping to be a high calorie day wifemade some crazy cakes but I'll skip most of the other junk. Plus I know that I'm just being picky now and I don't really need to lose any more

I don't really plan them, but I do find there are some days when I am just hungrier than others. I operate under the radical notion that if I'm truly, truly hungry, I should eat rather than white knuckle it. May mean I lose weight more slowly, or even don't lose, but I figure I'd rather nourish my body if it's asking for it rather than worry over-much about the scale.

I always eat when hungry but typically just increase the amount of food on my plate. Never reach for “junk” to fuel my body when hungry.
