Bittersweet week. Step daughter and her husband were in town for a week. Trying to escape from my assisted living apartment is a problem. I appreciate the fact that we are dealing with a pandemic but it doesn't make following the restrictions any easier. We ere able to go pick up fast food and sit in the park to eat it but it was pushing the limits when I wanted to be able to go out and say goodbye last evening. The weather wasn't being nice either. At 5:00 it was still 106°F. Fortunately it wasn't that hot on Thurs when I went to meet my oncologist. I am not too happy about the results of the appointment. The breast cancer was discovered the 28th of April but do to all the upheaval in my life, I only was able to meet the doctor now. I was dealing by PHONE with doctors in another county. My new oncologist was surprised that I didn't have a surgeon yet. He also gave me the impression that he wouldn't have started me on the chemo pills. He is putting in a referral for a surgeon and again I'm on hold until insurance comes through. He wasn't as encouraging as the other doctors but then they never did a physical exam. (Thank you covid-19). I think I'm going to be faced with either a lumpectomy followed by radiation or a mastectomy. Neither is a pleasant thought.
If anyone reads this, I can't figure out how to respond to anyone.
