This is a weigh-in after a fast day on 5:2, so I am not sure this is the right program for me. My last recorded weigh-in was after a fast day as well. I'm going to give this just a little longer, though...

Oh wow! You are just eating 500 calories on the two non-consecutive days? That is disappointing for you, I am sure. Maybe this is how it begins? I haven't done this before. Keep trying. Don't give up.

How long have you been doing this program? If you just started, give it some more time and then reevaluate. HUGS.

@mom2 - when you get to maintenance on the 5:2 it becomes 6:1. On the every-other-day diet, maintenance is several 1000 cal days each week, and the rest of the time is "unlimited." Of course, you do have to wonder if the studies included folks who have trouble with binge eating. @Engeland - I did every-other-day for 3 weeks but found it too intense, though I did lose 10 lbs in those 3 weeks. I took a break, then decided to try 5:2. I think if I still limited carbs and carb sources (like wheat) it would work just fine but I wanted to test whether you really could eat anything on the "feast" days and still lose. It works just fine for some folks! And to me it seemed to be the answer to dealing with daily restriction for ever and ever and ever, because that is something I seem to be unable to do.

Just started the 5:2. On my second consecutive fast day. I want to give it at least 4-5 weeks. The fast days are not so bad....just hoping I don't go crazy tomorrow.
