Am I just grouchy? I went to lunch today with a group of about 5 of my co-workers. It was at a restaurant where they serve rolls before your meal comes out. So they sit the rolls down and my close friend who knows I am dieting loudly announces to the group "Quick - Everyone eat the rolls before Amanda gets one!" So that made me a bit mad. I said "look - do you think I have no Will Power?! I have no intension of eating one of those rolls!" So then everyone told me I was being snappy. It just gets frustrating when people think they have to hide or guard food from you. I have lost 12 pounds on my own without a food bodyguard. Maybe I am just being sensitive, but it embarassed me and made me look and feel weak, fat, and discusting in front off all my co-workers. Sigh.

NO! You're not "just grouchy". You're friend made an insensitive statement, but don't take it to heart - not all people understand what it's like. Keep your chin up and next time just smile sweetly and don't respond to a statement like that. You know how strong you are and that is all that matters. You're not dieting for them, you're doing it for yourself. Chin up and smile - you're doing great!

Some people, even those you consider friends, will try and sabatoge(sp?) you or yank your chain. Remember, that is about them and not about you. Just keep taking care of yourself and keep up the good work!!

I totally understand! Try to ignore it...even though that is difficult! You should be sooo proud of yourself for the accomplishments thus far! Keep up the good work! :)
