My A1C hit 9.2, it has NEVER been that high that I known of. I have a laundry list of health issues and they all come back to the same thing; carbs (simple sugars).
So for Lent this year I'm going low carb/keto, my goal is to stay under 20 net carbs a day. I'm choosing Lent because what better way to honor our Lord than if I can cut down or cut out the one food item that has the biggest pull on me and also does the most damage to me? Also, much more selfishly, if I can pull this off for Lent, after 40 days maybe I won't want to indulge in carbs again.
Day one is behind me and I did well in fact net carbs were at about 3-4% I went about 100 calories over my intended target but I'm not worrying about calories that much.
Work is getting WAY more stressful and that worries me. I noticed yesterday how automatically I try to turn to "comfort" foods when faced with stress. That combined with my bad habit of not paying attention to what I eat and/or just automatically eating what is familiar is going to be tricky to over come.
