I would drive to mcDonalds at least 4-5 times a week and order a Large McChicken meal with a large sweet tea... sometimes eating another McChicken (350 calories), that’s a 1200 calorie meal! My daily average this week is 1,143 calories and I’m just as happy/content with my meals and I don’t have to deal with feeling sluggish and rundown.

Like you, I was stopping for fast food after work (Mexican food). I am now driving away from the restaurants and eating a protein and a cup of low carb vegetables when I get home. I'm aiming for less than 1500 calories per day (500 per meal) and 60 grams of carbohydrates. I hit the carbs correctly yesterday but only ate 850 calories. I am allowing myself fruit to help me with sugar cravings. I find I am eating too much fat in mayo, butter, avocado. I need to find a way to eat tuna without mayo. Any suggestions?

@Leighlun I’m actually not even counting carbs or protiens or fats, I’m just aiming at eating less than 1400 calories a day, the other stuff will come in time but for now just eating less and eating healthier is working, at some point I might stall and need to readjust but for now this works!
Try to keep things as simple as you can, I find that when I start getting frustrated or discouraged because I’m not hitting goals I fall back into old routine’s. Sometimes if I eat something extra, I do a little more exercise to make up for it, I hate the thought of excercising but after I’m done I’m always glad I did it. Also check out Pinterest for food ideas that fit your criteria!
Stay positive and never lose hope!

Oh man, you are singing my song! Used to order extra food ON TOP OF the meal. Used to do things like swing into Jack in the Box for tacos as a SNACK on the way home, and then go to DIFFERENT fast food for dinner! Making the adjustment to healthy eating has been a 180 for me, but I’m getting there! I think folks who have never lived like that don’t realize what a change it really is!
