This looks very interesting (and kind of long). I think it will be my goal to try to watch it all before the week is up. Thank you for the link.

It is a 4 part series, I am only through the first 2. It has already filled in the gaps in some of the questions I have for my looong term journey, this is not a diet.... but a life change.

i watched the 1st installment online Monday night. (no cable). I hope to get the rest of it watched this weekend. the stuff about how people that lose weight are ALWAYS going to be at a metabolic disadvantage compared to someone of the same weight who wasn't heavy prior = most.depressing.thing.ever.

Jess: The interesting thing about the "calories out" slowdown is that the actual metabolic component isn't too huge - on the order of 100 to 150 calories/day. The bigger component is that as we diet down, we burn fewer calories through unconscious reduction in activity and more efficient movement. The good news is, we can counter that by staying a little more active - not even necessarily more exercise, just moving around more. I don't think you can post links here, but I can message you an article about the issue that's pretty interesting, if you like.

Not sure if it was part 1 or 2, but I could not get over how much fat gets into our organs! This explains why we can lose weight and not see it on the outside. I know I have thinned down, but like every other guy, my belly is not going anywhere...

WARNING: this video contains graphic content of yummy forbidden foods! Now I am hungry, sigh. I am still glad I am watching it. The statistics are frightening. Everyone needs to see this.
