INDUCTION COMPLETED!!

I did honor my contract with God well, (can't say exactly to the T, given the slight increase in carbs at the second party), but I feel mostly good about how I did it. More importantly, I finally saw through an entire cycle of induction--for the first time!! Even though I have made many attempts to do so each time, this time around for 3 weeks continuously (except for that one day of cheating at the first party, when I had to start over again), I have been following the induction plan all throughout!!

Certainly something to celebrate.

What's the net result you ask? Well, I'd say 8.2 pounds lost from March 1 to 20.

What's the next plan? I could move on to OWL, and add 5 additional carbs, but that does not sound like a balanced meal. So, instead, I'm going to do calorie-counting.

1200 calories or less each day from Mar 21-Mar 31st. Hope to lose atleast 5 pounds or so on this. If does not work, then I'll switch to the wendie plan, with ww point, and jumping points up and down.

I am nervous, however! Even though I plan to keep carbs low in my choices, I wonder if addition of nuts, grains, flour, lentils, fruits, and other complex carbs is suddenly going to cause my body to go in some kind of crazy confusion! I hope for god's sake this doesn't undo the hard work of the last 3 weeks! What do you think??. I have to be VERY vigilant and track almost every day to ensure the weight doesn't start climbing (w/o getting too OCD, ofcourse!)

Meals so far today:
soy chorizo, mini sausage, tofu, cheese, with scallions, mushroom, tomato (200 calories)
coffee with cream (35 cal)
12 almonds (80 calories)+ 50 more calories
tea with soy milk (20 cals)
cheese (50 cals)
100-cal popcorn (100 cal)
veggie stir fry with mock duck, 3-4 almonds, and sesame oil (200 calories)
Running count so far: 735

Mock duck Stir Fry (made of seitan, garlic, thai chillies, fresh basil, frozen mix veggies, veggie oyster sauce, soy sauce, sriracha): 200 calories

Tofu, Chorizo, Veg Sausage Scramble (With cheese, scallions, tomato, and mushrooms)

Congrats on meeting your goal, and with such great results! However you decide to proceed, just be careful of those trigger foods - don't nuts have a tendency to make you keep eating them? :)

Dishes look great! Hate to say it, didn't want to say it but, you asked so now I feel like I can share. Big part of the reason I stopped doing Atkins was b/c it wasn't how I intended to eat lifetime wise (oh yeah, I thought I was going to but, missed bread, pasta & rice). When you start incorporating carbs back in, it will effect the scale. Try to be diligent, like you said above...watch which ones effect you greatly and hopefully you'll find the right balance. GREAT WORK btw! You did great, congrats on the huge loss!

Thanks, guys!! Amryk, good reminder! I'll definitely stay away from peanuts, cashews, and mixed nuts--those are too damn addictive. I think I can handle almonds in moderation as I tend to count them and allow myself no more than 20 a day..but if I find myself caving even with that, I'll be sure to kick that habit too. Kim, you're very right--I'll be watchful of the scale and keep track of which carbs seem to do the most damage. I loved both of your advice, and the nice lil greeting from Info!
