wholefoodnut's Journal, 10 January 2018

I need to update my profile one day soon as it is outdated. Day was OK, better than yesterday. Just finished dinner that fits my plan. Feeling a bit better today; the dang cough still persists and worse as the day goes on.

The only thing that seems to calm it is Canadian whisky. It doesn't really fit my plan but I need some rest from this cough and side affects of prednisone. I looked at CVS today for something that would help me sleep. All had Benadryl in it which I'm not supposed to mix with my asthma meds. Valerian isn't helping at this point. MMM back to whiskey.

Apparently Rotten is a Netflix series watching the 2nd one on food allergies. I think it is so odd that these food allergies especially for children didn't exist when I was a kid. What has happened in out environment? I don't think there is an answer yet. Like why am I allergic to chemical combos such as synthetic scents that predominate our environment? I have not figured that out yet. I avoid them as much as possible but no problems with t=natural foods.

So the tests especially for food are still not accurate. Be careful and try to figure out your/your child's triggers if you have any allergies. They aren't significantly more accurate than now. They are testing other options at the moment.

o you tube search : for fire Cider, and natural antibiotic, many different recipes. I used: jalapeño pepper, ginger (yum!) onion, garlic, Apple Cider vinegar. It helped me get over a cough. My local WalMart carries the ginger. And now some other Grocery stores do too. If you try melatonin : try it one nt when you don't have to be up and out early the next day. Some people very sensitive, it leaves them groggy next day. One of my granddaughters takes over 10X higher dose melatonin than I can take. Ha! I sometimes take 300 mcg. She takes 5 mg. I had to find the dose that worked for me. :) Hope you feel better.

Thanks for the fire cider suggestion, I will look that up. I always have fresh ginger. Currently steeping some fresh turmeric and ginger for a healing tea. Had a lentil dish with lots of ginger for dinner. Melatonin doesn't seen to help me much. Valerian usually does but not when on prednisone. Tomorrow the prednisone dose drops again so hoping that helps. I will be down to one pill per day so usually at that level I can sleep. Most of the pm otc meds have Benadryl in them which my doc says not to mix with my asthma drugs.
