For us Type II Diabetics - and, especially, in light of seeing SO MUCH CANDY in the stores during Christmastime - I have hand-picked THIS particular parody I wrote (in 2012) to share thoughts I have about how retailers sabotage us during the holidays. Enjoy!

Shop door "dings", owner's listenin' Candy canes, Sugar's glistenin' - Blurred is my sight, my levels have spiked In this Diabetic Wonderland
Gummy bears, lil' peep birds Chocolate forms shaped like cow turds I know that it’s wrong, to stay here so long, In this Diabetic Wonderland
At the counter we can grab some Snow-Balls Then distend our belly quite a bit Macaroons and HoHo's and a Big Gulp - Tomorrow mornin' we may feel like spit
Later on we'll regret it As we grunt on the toilet An’ regurgitate all the junk that we've ate In this Diabetic Wonderland
Minutes later, back out on the sales floor Something wondrous grabs us by surprise Peanut Butter cups the size of hubcaps An' Chocolate bars as big as both my thighs!
Sugar high - ain't it thrilling But next week, they'll be drillin' (cause) An appointment was made with the Dentist Tuesday (cause)...
We ate all of the sugar we could stand... Eating all the junk food in the land... In this Di-a-be-tic Won-der-land!
