I want this. I'm ready to change. Tonight I had the most insistent urge to go running. After being horribly sick all weekend, the cold and wet and ick outside, and that fact that it was almost 10pm I felt absolutely nuts. "Go put your jammies on girl and get some shut eye" said my reason. But that dumb little voice inside me kept poking me to get the pup, strap up the ipod, and just GO.

So I did.

20 minutes later I was home, soaked and freezing, but proud as all get out. I took a couple of pictures to remember, then hit the shower.

On reflection, I didn't like it. I didn't get that runners high, I don't feel a burning need for more. The thing is, I didn't particularly dislike it either. Our normal route is about 2 miles and I ran at least 1.5 if it. My first intentional run, so I'm alright with that. In the past I've pushed myself. Gone all out and pretty much killed myself to get it done the best I can.

This round I'm taking a different path. Slow and easy but consistent. I've failed before. Finally I'm ready to make a real change that will get results and last. It's been 3 days without weighing in so far. Since I'm doing everything right that I know to do, that is sitting ok with me. I don't particularly like it, but I think I can live without that number for a few weeks.

I'm finally ready to get on with my life.

Awesome! By the way those are great quotes. I am glad to hear that you tried something different and are getting used to not weighing in too often. It sounds like you are doing a really good job, so keep up the good work. I am excited for you to see what the payoff will be like when you weigh in again. :)

All of the quotes, are great, and can inspire one to act, when you ae on the fence about whether to take action or not. Sometimes you just have to go for it, as you did, and even if you come back from a run, like that, and feel like, maybe you shouldn't have, but are glad you did; at least you found out, and can now pull back, some, to do things better the next time. Keep up the good work, and never give up. :-)
