Oy, such excitement! A few things on the inner side, and a few on the outer. I went to sleep very early last night, so of course, I was awake at 1 AM. I know better than to lie there and toss and turn, so I got up and played mindless games for a couple of hours. Went back to bed at 3, and managed a few more hours until 7. That kind of split sleep is never as good as a solid sleep, but I was at least alert for working and the Walmart run. Now my eyes are tired and irritated, and I'm very sleepy. I'm going to try to stay awake until at least 9 PM, to try to re-establish my sleep pattern. I'm getting very excited about a weekend away for the eclipse. I have a few activities planned for the weekend, including a first-time visit to Trader Joe's, swimming in the hotel pool (in my new size SMALL swimsuit!) and watching some cable TV. I may have mentioned before that I have only basic (13 channel) cable at home, and easily go months without even turning it on. However, one of my favorite vloggers from YouTube was asked earlier this year to participate on a special edition of the Discovery Channel's show, "Naked and Afraid". It turns out that his episode will air the night of the eclipse, when I will have full cable access in the hotel! I'm really looking forward to it, since I was following live updates from him during the filming. He, and another vlogger, were allowed to do daily vlogs from the site. It looked pretty horrendous. So it will be interesting to see the network's take on their situation. So, yeah. The new computer arrived today after spending 24 hours languishing at the local FedEx location. It took me a couple of hours to get it set up, programs and extensions installed, and back online. Interestingly, the speaker jack on the box still has the pin-dot connections for speakers and mic in the back, instead of the single jack. But it does have them on the front. I think I still have the converters somewhere. It's just a matter of digging through the 'old computer parts' box to find them. And yeah, after a week on the old, pokey NetBook, this is SCREAMING fast! But the biggest change is the screen size. LOL! My desktop monitor is only 26 inches, but after a week squinting at a 10" screen, I feel like the world has opened to me again! So, I'm back. Starting tomorrow, everything is logged, at least until the weekend away. All rules will be suspended, and cravings indulged while I'm having fun in the Capitol City. Consciously. When I get back, it's back on the program full force. I wish you all a happy and successful rest of the week. Love and Light, ~Kes
