I have always heard (I think a few of us have) that it takes your body something like 20 minutes to register 'full', and I've always thought that was odd - why would it take so long?

Today, I ate my lunch, which was a half portion of a previous zucchini-marinara-mushrooms-chicken dish and some potatoes I added so it would be enough calorically to do what I needed to. Ate...still hungry. So, I ate my snack that was supposed to be for later...still hungry. Had a fig newton and 15 minutes later, felt like I'd stuffed myself at Thanksgiving or something. I added up all the calories, and it was about 400 calories in all, and I'm a girl who was used to many more calories at one sitting just a couple months ago. I felt over-full for the next hour. Moral of the story? Eat slowly, wait (or drink some water) and avoid that icky feeling!

I'm still good with regard to RDI for the day (actually, I'm low). Just wanted to share!
