Feeling kind of blah and emotional today. Didn't weigh in as I was a bit rushed this morning. My 17yr. old (step son) is really making me learn to be a patient person who doesn't micro manage. lol I find that when I'm stressed over his actions (or lack thereof), I want to eat something "naughty" or DRINK!!! By the time my 1 yr. old is a teenager, I'll have a totally different perspective on things!
I did do myself a favor and started listening to Dr. Phil again, yesterday. I am really starting to believe that my food triggers are emotional based. Dr. Phil says we need to learn how to handle our impulses. We need to find a replacement behavior (something incompatible) for our food impulses. i.e. instead of eating a slice of cheese cake, take a shower. It's rather difficult to eat a slice of cheese cake in the shower. He says that eating is ONLY out of control at certain times of the day, not 24/7. This makes sense to me. I can pretty much count on a chocolate chip cookie craving after lunch every day. He also says impulse moments last about 2-3 minutes at a time and that we can expect impulses 4-7 times a day. He says it's critical to manage these times of days. Basically, be prepared ahead of time.
So, I'm working on finding my impulse moments, making a list and finding alternate actions to do in place of the impulses.
Sheesh! He wasn't kidding when he said that to become healthy will require discomfort. Becoming overweight is easy... To reverse it is going to hurt. But, it's better to be uncomfortable now than to find myself on the operating table from a heart attack 10 years down the road!!

So instead of a cookie, a shot of tequila? Instead of a slice of cheesecake, sex with hubby? Instead of cake, pole dancing? huh? I said I'd "behave" I didn't say I'd behave nicely! You're so cute, you're doing good. Hang in there, keep letting us know what we can do for you! I Love ya!

today when I gave my daughter her peanut butter sandwich, it looked SO good, I wasn't expecting the craving for it. In sight in mind, is the way it goes for me, even if I'm not hungry. But it passed, WHEW..I made it! One choice at a time, we can do this people!

1 cup peanut butter...the crunchy is better 1 large egg 12 packages of splenda or 1 cup (i used less, to me splenda is sweeter than sugar) mix all ingredients together and roll into 20 balls preheat oven to 350 bake for 9 to 10 minutes bake to the size of half dollars divide the number of cookes by the carbs in the peanut butter to get a count per cookie enjoy...i have an awesome oatmeal raisen cookie for phase 2...

I submitted a couple of cookie recipes I found online today..but it takes forever to go through. I couldn't stop thinking about my peanut butter, by the way, so I mixed a tablespoon in with my ricotta, with a tablespoon of cocoa powder, splenda and a tablespoon of toasted almonds. Yummy and permissible!! I love this diet.
