Hola!

Today is a great day! For the last few days I have been focusing on getting more calories in on a daily basis (I know, go figure!) I was sitting right around 850 calories each day which was not nearly enough... I know I have been writing about this weight loss plateau I hit about a month ago and I honestly think my low caloric intake could be a contributing factor. I need to eat more!!! So... the last few days have been good. I am averaging around 1100 calories which is a huge improvement I think. It's difficult to get enough calories without going overboard on sodium and carbs!!!

I was wondering if anyone had any favorite herbs or salt free spices they use to make foods like chicken and veggies taste good??? I NEED flavor in my life and not using salt is HARD but I am determined. I need a healthy blood pressure more than I need flavor, lol! I would really appreciate any ideas at all.

Thanks!!

I'm so glad you said that. I was thinking about your plateau today and thinking you're probably not eating enough especially because you are working out harder. Have you tried Mrs. Dash for your chicken? There is one that my mom uses too (she watches her sodium) I'll ask her. And as for getting a few more calories in without sodium....I'm telling you...go for the smoothie. Blend up 1/2 cup yogurt and some berries with part of a banana....good fiber and tastes great. Good job!

Thanks so much for the tips! I will try Mrs. Dash... I guess my memories from way back of using Mrs. Dash are not good ones but in reading up on it, looks like the brand has improved significantly! I will have to give it another go!! Also, I am gonna try a smoothie. It may sound crazy but I am trying to get over this "fear" of carbs I have... I am so leary about smoothies and the like because they have so many carbs in them! I know they are "good" carbs but again... it's mental I guess. I have been trying to keep my carbohydrate intake to no more than 55-60 grams a day... but using greek yogurt may help with that... Wish me luck... and thanks again Calannapy!
