LMJ114's Journal, 12 February 2010

Stressing. Found out yesterday that today's flight was cancelled. Was able to get re-booked for Saturday. But even that got mucked up around 10 last night. Finally got Saturday firmed up, and got to bed for fitful sleep around 11 p.m. Got up this morning and went to airport and am currently reserved on a couple of different options that MIGHT get me out of here and home yet tonight. Worse case scenerio, sleep at airport and hope the 6 am flight tomorrow morning will get me home.

I know I need to calm down. I'll get home, and so what if it is a day late?

I am a very organized and disciplined person. That's good, normally. Its bad when I can't be in control, as I get anxious and try to "fix" it. It would be better if I could just sit back and let the world flow around me.

Assuming I'll not get home until Saturday night, I did change my Monday plans and now don't fly out again until early Tuesday morning. I know that my eating and my exercising has been impacted by this bad weather, and the stress from that could derail my healty plans. So, am taking a personal day on Monday. I may not be able to plan my way out of this airport situation, but I was able to plan how to get back on track with my health... and Monday will be a big part of that.

With your will and determination I know you'll come out of this in good shape but how frustrating! I hope you are on a plane on your way home tonight....but if not, I hope you have a good book and a Starbuck's skinny cinamon dolce latte to get you through!! Glad you have Monday off to recoup.

LOVED hearing from you last night! I used to be a scheduler. Everything had to go as scheduled or I was a tither. But being married to someone who sits back and embraces life, I have adapted. Now I still schedule but I also adventure and adapt. An elderly friend of my taught me, "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD". Let God do the planning and accept, with grace, that which befalls us. Truth be told, sounded to me like you made the best of it last night- wish I was there!
