I screwed up bad :(

My company had happy hour at Bertucci's today and I lost it. I ate 3 dinner rolls (!) with EV olive oil (it was amazing, I can't lie), 4 meatballs and 2 wings. I drank around 2 small glasses of Chardonnay with it.

The second I finished I just did not want to log in the info on FS. I also felt like exploding. I was full of carbs and regret.

Then I came home and fat Bemused started talking in my head: "You already screwed up, just eat ice cream now. As is you exceeded your calorie limit drastically and had more carbs today than you did in last week. I want ice cream, come on fridge is so close.."

I think I can reverse my mistake in two days by keeping my calories and carbs lower. The problem is my mindset, problem is food addict emotion eating Bemused.

I am writing here hoping the more I write the more I can take back control.

I am just so upset (which makes me wanna eat more!). Just this morning I posted a great weight loss. How could I be so weak to screw up the same day?

So life happens. I second all the advice given. But poor choices can be followed by healthy ones. I finally finding that I don't enjoy sweet, high carb foods like I used to. Still very much work in progress, but it gets easier and the bad choices less frequent. Tomorrow is another day 😁 You'll do it !!

One thing you can control is the food available to you in your own home. In other words, the ice cream has to go. As do any other garbage carbs that are lurking in your fridge or pantry (crackers, cookies, rolls, pastries, etc.). Don't make it easy to cheat!

Another thing that I've found that really helps me in the last year since I LOVE ice cream. I would eat nothing but smoothies and ice cream for every meal if people didn't complain. I now substitute in an organic veggie protein shake made with lots of ice crushed up and coconut milk or almond milk and stevia with Hershey's special dark cocoa powder (no sugar). This fakes me out, just a bit, that I'm indulging that craving, and helps me reach my necessary protein without overeating. I'm big on trying to find or make substitutes.

Thank you ALL again for your advices. I really feel great seing you are here for me :) I am happy to tell today was not a bad day. 1000 kcal in total (My daily avg. normally is 1400-1500). So, if tomorrow I keep in that level too, I will make up for yesterday. Afterwards, I will go to my normal range.

I know the regret and feeling of OMG what did I just do. And then sometimes I struggle to get back in focused mindfulness about my overall goals. I have some things I do routinely when wanting to just keep chewing. Fresh veggies are most satisfying when I just want to chew and have a sensation of fullness at a low calorie cost. Sometimes I realize that it is near the end of the day and I am really just tired not hungry. And I always try water to lessen the desire to eat. If that doesn't do it, I might need to have broth to feel like it is food and not just water. We are human not weak, sometimes we struggle more than other times and then we regain a sense of control and the effort it takes seems easier for a while. Wishing you easier days.
