The last few days haven’t been great for me. =( I can’t seem to control myself when sitting at a family dinner or a buffet style dinner. When my boyfriend and I eat at home, we cut the meals in 4’s or ½ and that’s all we eat. It makes it easy to eat a normal portion size and we’ll have leftovers. The other night my mom made whole wheat spaghetti but instead of portioning out everything we just started digging in. I ate way more than I should have because the pan of spaghetti sat right in front of me and I and my dad just kept picking at it. UGH I was so mad at myself and I felt extremely stuffed! Last night we went to a family birthday party at a pizza place. I started off with salad and a few pieces of pizza. Then I kept going back…and then we had cake! I blew up like a balloon with all that salt. I definitely paid for it. I obviously need to work on my self control.

On Monday my mom and I are going to Chicago for a Scentsy convention…and when you go to Chicago…you have to have Chicago Style pizza… I’ll just have to have one piece and be satisfied..I’m going to do my best…be strong!

Just a question for you.. Have you tried to drink a glass of water before eating? I know from personal experience how hard self control can be. However I'm sure if you put your mind to not over indulging you can and will do just fine. Good luck.

Yes I have and it does slow me down.

A long time trick is to always make your first bite lean protein. Then add your veggies. I know it is really hard to do when you eat out - especially pizza places. You'd be surprised at how many of us eat a little something before we go out (like a hard boiled egg) so we are not that hungry when get there. BTW - I think it is great that your Mom is making WW pasta.

Yes, I've been trying to get my folks on the healthy kick. It would sure make their lives a lot better and mine a lot easier lol.
