I try to stick under 1,000 a day too and it works well for me. With calorie intake that low each morsel of food is precious and so I endeavor to eat the most nutritious choices. Last night I had a battle between packaged noodles or making up zucchini noodles, thank goodness I behaved, it was soo tempting though. Such switches mean I can have my nibble of dark chocolate guilt free
