Last night's Vegan Curry was a bust. It was beyond awful. The dogs turned their noses up. My husband ended up taking me out to dinner...in part because neither of us could tolerate the smell of cooked cauliflower in the house for one more second. What a disaster.

Dinner was not part of my plan and resulted in excess calories and junk that I regret now for eating. By the time I finished my morning workout I was running late and ended up skipping breakfast this morning. I consumed enough calories to make up for that last night though. I also failed to pack my lunch and I'm not expecting to make it home from work tonight before 8pm. Silver lining: This is the recipe for a great IF day. So, I will eat lunch a little before noon (Taco Bell Fresco Style Bean Burrito-It's vegan-approved, unlike the lobster tacos and mint-chocolate chip ice cream I annihilated last night)and start over tomorrow (again). Maybe this is how dieting is...you just keep starting over when you make massive errors, the sooner the better.

In other news, I earned enough points to receive a "Free" Trek Road Bike. I earn points through my employer's health and wellness plan for competing in races, getting health check ups, etc. Thus, while it is "free" I worked pretty hard to earn the nearly 67,000 points it took to win it. Anyway, this is wonderful and will hopefully get me back to competing in sprint triathlons. It's not a tri bike, but a road bike is sufficient for my amateur level. There is one sprint triathlon in September, but I'm not positive I will be up to par by then. The last time I competed in one I used a 1970s model schwinn. The bike has never been my strong sport. I *thought* swimming was my strong area, but I learned quickly that wasn't the case as swimming in a tri with a ton of other people making waves is not even remotely the same as swimming alone in a pool or lake. I'd really like to take some swim lessons to improve under the guidance of a coach. I've reached out to a few coaches but have yet to get any response. In the meantime, there is no reason I can't also work on improvement with the bike. I need to buy an indoor trainer so I can ride at home while the baby is napping (or parked in front of the TV watching Sponge Bob contrary to all pediatric advice).

36 days left until vacation. Keep on swimming.
