Went to my doctor today. Had blood work done, but right now I know my blood sugar is good, (A1C will be forthcoming, but should be good), weight is down almost 27lbs, blood pressure is good, and she wasn't too mad that I stopped taking the medicine I was prescribed without consulting her first. But she agreed that if I haven't suffered any effects yet, I didn't need to continue taking the Metformin, Lisinopril, and Prilosec. We will see about the Statin. I expect my blood cholesterol to still be high. Finally got access to the gym, so I went there this morning with hopes of running a 5K on the treadmill, but I'm still getting over the cold my daughter gave me and I could only make 2.2 miles. I still burned around 300 calories. I'll get better, and I'll get stronger. The doctor's are always throwing in that little bit of discouragement though. She told me that a recovery from diabetes was usually only a temporary state, and for me to expect it to return. She don't know how stubborn the guys are in my family....
