Thursday evening here and I have work I have to do tonight. I have a meeting at 8 in the morning and I was supposed to have some work done. Figures I would leave it until the last minute. All I really want to do is vegetate but duty calls. ARGH!!! But first of course I thought I better write something here or you all might not hear from me!! Lord knows that isn't an option!

Some days I feel like all I do is drink things and then get rid of what I drank!!! Maybe it's my age. It is so delightful getting older. A colleague of mine who is in my age range said her Naturopath told her she needed to drink more water. HA!! If I drank any more my eyeballs would be floating!!!

Anyway, I've been hungry. Today was a hungry day. I ate my planned meals but still I have been hungry. I stopped at the grocery store to use their restroom (see ... I told you!!!) and I have to walk through the bakery and deli to get there. Oh ... there were so many things that looked delicious!!! I fondled and few things and kept moving. Read a couple of labels (a hummus and pretzel thingy was nearly 400 calories ... which theoretically is good for me, right?) and kept moving, remembering I could fix dinner when I got home.

Of course, I have room to snack if I choose and I probably should choose to do so as I am fairly certain I need to eat more calories. It is the age old dilemma I find myself in. I think I should keep the calories low so I'll lose faster and I know that isn't necessarily the right approach. I tell myself I'll start increasing calories when I am closer to goal but I have a sneaking suspicion I might have to do it earlier than that. I do have some baby carrots and hummus here at home. That sounds pretty tasty to me but later ... if I am still hungry. LOL!!!

It was another busy day at work. There have been a lot of them lately. I don't really mind. The days go faster that way ... and this weekend is another three day weekend (paid holiday on Monday YAY!!!).

I'm good I think. No drama. Hubby has been feeling pretty good lately. We are going to go thrift store/surplus store shopping this weekend. It should be fun. And of course we'll go out to eat. And I think we'll make the trek to Spokane and stop by Trader Joe's there. Maybe we'll even see our son ... who knows what trouble we might get ourselves into.

If it is super cold like it has been we shouldn't stay out too long because it takes so long to get the house warmed up once it gets chilly. The good and bad of living off the grid.

I am grateful for many things ... what comes to mind this evening is ...

the little bit of snow that has fallen has made the roads more driveable and I like that.

the growing awareness I have of the need for balance in my life.

the quiet I've enjoyed this week home alone.

the changes I get to witness in other people's lives.

the simple joys of everyday life.

I hope your day was good and your evening is relaxed and drama free. Of course I continue to practice being kind to myself ... that I will never be able to stop. Guess I better get to work. It certainly isn't getting done chatting here with you, regardless of how pleasant I find it!!!

Take Care!!

What a good reminder to me to drink more water...I forget. Love that resolve walking throught the store and not buying anything at the bakery. That 's power!
