I am frustrated!!!!! I really would like to make some veg beef soup but any stock you get at the store has a ton of sodium any suggestions? I also found a recipe for French Onion soup in the 'kitchen' and it calls for wine any suggestions for substitutions? There is no alchol allowed in my house.
Thanks

You can get low sodium bouillon from the grocery store and make stock. I purchased some the other day. In the organic foods area I also found very low sodium chicken stock. It was more than 10x lower sodium than the regular stock. Didn't look for beef stock though.

Are you familiar with the store Whole Foods...Well they carry a low sodium stalk with about 70 mg of sodium, now thats the lowest you can get it, because beef, or chicken naturally have sodium, and its just the natural sodium that your getting. I'm not sure of the brand however it is organic.
