Starladesiree's Journal, 17 January 2010

Kind of had a cheat day yesterday, but not really. Had a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries for lunch, but I don't think it was too bad. I only ate a few of the fries, and didn't eat the mayo-covered bottom bun of the burger. Kept it light the rest of the day to compensate. Weight wasn't up this morning even though I expected it to be. Also got in some exercise last night, even though I was exhausted and had a splitting headache all day. I am having trouble sleeping, I'm not sure why. I should be sleeping like a rock considering I've been eating better and exercising almost daily. Maybe it's the school thing. I dunno. School is going well so far. I generally like my classes, other than the fact that history is utterly boring to me since I've studied it a million times already, and my anatomy and physiology teacher has a very heavy accent, so it's hard for me to understand him. I also got stuck in a lab group that doesn't seem to be very bright... I was pretty much doing the teaching to them when we were doing metric conversions on Thursday night... Le sigh. Hopefully they're able to understand stuff better when we get into the anatomy/physiology parts of the lab. I get to dissect a human brain and a fetal pig later in the semester. I've already dissected a pig... The brain will be interesting... Why is college so repetitive? Either I went to a really advanced public school system or these classes are not very advanced... I still have a lot of reading to do for them though. Blah.

On another non-diet related note, do any of you live in the Vegas area? Since I'm planning to have the wedding there, I was looking for reccommendations for restaurants off of the strip that may have reception options. Most of the hotel restaurants are just out-of-hand-expensive.

That sucks about your lab group. That's the same thing that happened to me every time I took a class like that.

I really hate, HATE, HAAAATTTEEEEEEE working in groups. I am generally not a very social person unless I'm among fellow nerds, but most of these kids seem like tools. Ah, fresh-out-of-high-school ignorance. Smells like douchiness.

lol I'm the same way. I always just end up doing everything to ensure no one else screws me over and kills my grade. I think the whole group dynamic in those classes exists solely so the prof can be lazy and not have to do as much grading.

History?!? I love History!! If you need any help, please feel free to ask, I'm a History major when I decide to go back to school, I just have to finish my Associate's and then I'll hopefully get my BA in Education and History! I'm mainly scared that I'm going to get stuck with the same kind of kids you're with, and that's keeping me away from enrolling. Anyway, to your food, I wish I could eat a cheeseburger and chilli cheese fries and see no gain. Officially, jealous.

Hmm... Everything off of the strip will be pretty expensive. I'll look around at reception options..
