I finally feel human again after our New Year's Eve "celebration", which involved drinking far too much alcohol, far too late. The scale has been going crazy, and I'm not sure if it's due to over-eating or general hydration issues related to all that "holiday cheer". Hopefully, things will return to normal soon.

I have been using the Wii Fit almost daily, if only for 15 minutes in the morning. I almost feel guilty for using it so much, since it was supposed to be a gift for the "old lady". I may have to get her a nice after-christmas gift if she decides not to use it.

On a side note, I wonder if the females would mind sharing how they might feel if their significant other bought them fitness gear as a gift? I had reservations about the unspoken implications, but I decided to get it anyway, since she specifically asked for it. What do you think? Does it send a negative message for a man to buy fitness equipment for his woman?

Otherwise, I feel pretty good. I did surprisingly well at staying away from sugar and starch over the holidays. In my mind, I feel like I can see a difference in my silhouette, even though it hasn't been reflected on the scale.
