Shynes23's Journal, 04 January 2017

I've been eating Collard Greens all this week, and minimal meat and sweets, whereas 3 weeks about - inclusive, I was overeating , not feeling very well. Overeating candy - as I was feeling depressed... - Emotional eating. Now I am getting back on track, I don't want to continue to treat myself that way.
I am happy with the plans I am putting in place to change my eating habits/ intake/ nutritional consumption and portion size.

How do you prepare the collard greens? I had some on New Year's Day that were fantastic however I know there was a fair amount of bacon and lord knows what else. Likely not very healthy.

Hi Raven, I wash the Collards, then place them into a boiling pot of 20% water, 30% vegetable broth and 20% chicken broth. 1 smoked turkey leg, pepper, Himalayan salt, garlic powder. Cook for about 45 mins to an hour. on high at first, then medium. Cook till greens tender and enjoy.
