started on the lo carb journey today. weighed in and recorded still need to measure and take photo.
I am surprised at how much fat is in this diet. I am sure it is by nature of the meat protein. pretty impressive when you see on the pie chart makes me a little nervous.
exercise is not an issue for me so that good. been working these past few days so it can be a challenge. I incorporate it in my day by stairs, taking the long way around etc.
I am hoping for 2lb weight loss- think that is realistic.

I find this way of eating gives me the best results. I think you will like it. At first, I didn't worry so much about protein, but now I am working at keeping it under 60 Gms per day.

It takes a while to accept the fat requirements! We're all so deeply trained to avoid fat. But this diet doesn't work unless you keep that fat ratio high. Either too much protein or too much carbs will keep you from losing weight. So don't be afraid of the fat. Look into some of the daily diet journals of the LCHF folks to see what we're eating. It is amazing, but it works big time! Many of us have lost lots of fat this way!

It is tough, but I'm not ready to put coconut oil in my coffee, yet 😕

thanks for all your input very helpful. I will try to throw out the age old wisdom of fat as the enemy. definitely look at some of your food journals for reassurance.

@Lady - coconut oil in coffee only works for me if it is emulsified in the blender with egual parts butter - 1 TBS coconut oil or MCT oil; 1 TBS butter; 12 oz. coffee. I drink decaf. blended in the blender. I usually add a few drops of stevia and vanilla or a splash of sugar free hazelnut syrup. Truly delicious and a meal replacement. But the blending is a must. Coconut oil or butter floating on top of coffee is gross!

Fat is a limit, not a goal. If you aren't adding a lot of fat, but keeping the macros balanced, the fat will come from your belly and hips. But getting enough dietary fat will keep you feeling full and satisfied. I find that bulletproof coffee is a total appetite killer for me. It's so rich, creamy and delicious, I stay full with it for 10-24 hours.
