Sunrise's Journal, 25 November 2011

I finally got around to taking my measurements. How depressing! My thighs are several inches larger than my waist used to be! About 50% of my current body weight is pure fat. Why did I let myself get to this point? I think my original hope of being at my goal weight by mid-July is probably unrealistic. I'm starting to accept the possibility that it might take a year or longer.

Measurements as of today:

Neck: 16"
Chest: 45"
Arms: 17"
Waist: 41"
Hips: 52.5"
Thigh: 31.5"
Calf: 17.75"

Good morning sunrise. I like your measurements, you are all in proportion :-). I think I am gonna have to go find a tape measure as this is a very good idea. Just remember/think how you were/will be and how super fit this lifestyle choice will make you. I've got a lot of weight to lose and am pretty static at the moment whilst I am trying to find my RDI levels. This left me feeling like a failure as my long term goal seemed unreachable. I have now set myself smaller targets with more frequent dates and comments along the way to help me retain focus. You could do this with your measurements, or as I have done - with my weight. It doesn't matter how long it takes to get to that ultimate 'sweet spot' we all have in our peripheral vision; just so long as we can see we are on that journey and then we will stay focused, make it all the way, be proud of ourselves and inspirational to others xx

Proportionately fat maybe :) Yes, we need all the feedback/performance measures we can get. If some weeks the scale doesn't show me what I want to see, maybe the tape measure will :) I agree with the thought of setting multiple interim goals. There is something to be said for having many small goals that are quite within reach all the while working towards a much larger, ultimate goal! Keep up the good work. Half the battle is finding out exactly what works. We are all different. What works for some, doesn't work for all. Keep at it and you will surely find the right combination of diet and exercise that works for YOU!
