That's awesome Lady! You are in total control! It's a wonderful feeling!! Our society places so much emphasis on socializing with food, there are times when eating is the right thing to do :) Glad you decided to join in and managed to forge some relationships with other staff!

It's like an experiment every time I raise a fork to my mouth. Still free from cravings and mental obsession.

Super! That is my downfall; compulsive obsessive eating and stuffing it in. Can't stop with just one, but now I recognize that so I am very aware and determined to eat with purpose not absentmindness :-)

@buffgirls, do you mean that your body now accepts your weight as normal and doesn't try to store fat? That is what I'm hoping for. @JMA312, now I'm starting to understand what people mean by not eating in front of the TV etc.

Lady I did a test one time, I could sit in front of a movie and eat an entire bag of chips and never notice it was gone till my fingers could find nothing but crumbs. I sat down at the kitchen table and tried to eat a whole bag...not happening, I could manage about two handfuls. Now when I eat I sit at the table with no distractions, enjoy my food...try really hard not to bolt it. I get full on a lot less and I realize that I am full with no distractions.

@deb, I'm starting to understand the reasons for place settings, flowers, cloth napkins. Eating is kind of a sacred experience when you think about it. We are consuming life to nourish life. We should enjoy and be grateful.

I found that eating at the table worked great when MH was alive, but now if I sit at the table, I eat faster -- I guess to get it done with. I find I do better eating in front of the TV since I eat slower and it takes me longer to finish. I do make sure that I put on my plate what is planned for that meal and only eat what's on my plate, no seconds. I think this is another case where you have to find what works for you -- although I do agree with Debra about the snack foods, that's a whole different thing!
