The never-ending dilemma - so today I'm celebrating with some friends at a pizza parlor, and someone brings yummy baked goods to the office. Part of me thinks "I'm having pizza later, I really should pass on the treats." The other part of me thinks, "I'm having pizza later, so it's not a low-cal day. Might as well enjoy myself!" And I wonder why I'm not losing weight (mad face, eye roll face)!

It is very hard not to "rationalize" it like that but you have to train yourself not to do it. I try to remember that the days I "rationalized" more calories I felt horrible from over eating later and mad at myself for doing it again to help not doing it now.

You can justify just about anything, depending on what your goals are. If your momentary pleasure is more important than your weight goal, you can justify that. If your weight goal is more important, you can justify smarter choices. It all comes down to priorities. ;)
